please can someone inform me as to what health tests need to be carried out in each of the above breeds, also what is a good result.

GSD health tests-Hip scoring as low as possible(especially stud dogs the lower the better) evenly scored), elbow can be done at the same time, eye testing & the male MUST be haemophillia tested clear

They must both have good temperaments although you cannot get a certificate for this

leo are hips,elbows and eyes the same as the gsd. the lower the score of the parents the better the club standard for leo's is no higher than 15 on one hip and a total of 25 can be used for breeding. the kc mean score is 12 for hips. the club standard for elbows is o or 1 dogs should be breed with and the kc says 0 which most leos are anyway. the eyes have to be tested each year.even if you have parents with very good scores it doesn't always mean the offspring will have the same.but any good breeder should show you the paperwork of the parents to show you that they have been  tested and the results.
