I've just started a diet and decided to try fish after years of not enjoying it. I bought some smoked cod and put it in the frying pan covered in milk and water and boiled it for 10 minutes and it was delicious. What other ways are there of cooking it. Microwave, oven etc? I think I'll stick to smoked cod for the flavour unless someone can come up with other tasty alternatives.

Fry onion rings till crisp and add to cold boiled rice or pasta, add a small amount of crispy bacon and flaked fish. Dress with a spicy salad dressing or mayo and tabasco. Serve with green salad.

try a low fat fish curry - my favourite curry - will PM you the recipe if you would like - no fat cooked in microwave just have to watch the  portion of rice :p :p

We cook cod, haddock, plaice fillets by adding a bit of garlic or lemon olive oil and then just grilling under a moderate heat for 15-18 mins - lovely with stir fried veg or a baked potato or salad.

I've also cooked sea bass by making a foil envelope, placing the fish inside and adding herbs, garlic, a splosh or 2 or white wine and season with salt and pepper.  Oven bake for 20 minutes and then serve with new potatoes and salad.  Gorgeous!!!  :-)

We tend to eat fish approx 3-4 times a week as we love it and its so healthy for you!!

if you are on a diet you don't want to be adding butter or frying it ....you can steam fish with black pepper and lemon or wrap in foil and bake with herbs , you loose a lot of taste when fish is microwaved and youe microwave will stink forever try then foilwrapped or steamed idea's you can add lots of things but not FAT if your dieting

What about salmon - you can cook it in the oven with garlic or butter or lemon etc. Have it with salad, cook it on the barbie or with pasta or make fishcakes etc :)
Salmon is really the only fish I will eat (plus its usually filleted etc so i dont have to do anything to it) :)
