Can you tell me if Raspberry leaf tablets are really worth
trying?
I do have some I am giving to a bitch at the moment. However
someone told me to stop giving these because they do more
harm than good and some bitches have had problems such
as prolapse after birth and its proven its this.
Surely this cant be right ?????
Any info would be appreciated.

Hello. i have tried them on a bitch that whelped last week they didn't seam to work on her as she ended up having oxytocin. But on a good note my vet did recomend it so it is safe to use... Steph

raspberry leaf is for helping bitches with clean births not contractions it's herbal ingrediants help keep the reproductive system clean from toxins I use a compound powder with other ingrediants in as well and whelped 2 bitches last year one on it and one not ...the bitch on it had a super clean birth and recoverd very quick the bitch that didn'nt have it had a very mucky birth and bled for 5 weeks after , so it has worked for me ....
I gave the natural rearing birth aid herbal mix which contains among others raspberry leaves, my girl had 10 pups in 4hrs problem free, so think something worked :D

I would always give raspberry tablets. My bitches have always whelped easily and quickly (no prolapses) and my doctor even recommended them for me when I was pregnant! (I didn't prolapse either!)

I gave Raspberry Leaf to my Shih Tzu bitch as I had heard that they do have problems whelping. I have to say that she whelped 5 puppies so easily. It was either the Raspberry Leaf or I have been lucky. Have never given it before to my other dogs but then have never had any problems with bitches whelping.

The birth aid I gave Gwen suggested using till 2/3 days post whelping :) It`s the first time I`ve used it & my last litters have been 24/36hrs, the last litter 3yrs ago the vet was here & giving oxytocin, the last shot he gave was the last could be given & we were just about to leave for C section when the last 2 pups finally arrived. I am so amazed with 10 pups in 4hrs :D not only that but she was so relaxed & calm about the whole thing & even afterwards she was in great form :D went for a swim the day before & day after!!!!!!
Good luck :)
