Does anyone have any ideas for original wedding presents ?? My friend is getting married on Saturday (ok so ive left it a bit late  ) Ive looked at her list and its all boring stuff, I wanted to get her something a bit different.  As they have been living together for some time they have most stuff and whats on their list is what they already have just newer ;)

Any ideas for something I could give them that is a bit original and more meaningful than a couple of saucepans would be much appreciated :)

How about a Screwpull corkscrew?  They lift out the cork in one movement - even I can successfully open bottles with it!

It just so happens that I got some literature from Greenpeace yesterday about this. They were suggesting you make a charitable donation on their behalf. Alternatively you could sponsor an animal in one of the rescue centres for them or something like that.

what about a tree for the garden?
My parents gave DH and me a climbing rose for our first anniversary and I love it.
Or have a star named after them - too cheesy?? :D
Or adopt an animal at the local zoo on their behalf maybe? At my local zoo it's relatively cheap to do that as the adoptees 'share' the animals and you can choose what wording you want on a plaque outside the enclosure.

Good luck :)

Two bottles of very nice wine, one to celebrate their wedding, one to celebrate their first anniversary?
