hi everyone,ive got a bulldog bitch who has shown all signs of pregnancy...eg..pink teats,larger mammary glands,sickness,weight gain and yet shes had 3 scans done but the vets cant see any pups as they said her ribs are so big and her spleen is blocking the way,im very frustrated as i thought if they were there we would be able to see them by now (shes 6 half wks ) we have now had a blood test done as the vet said this is the only way to tell if she is or not,i get the results mon,she also looks heavy under her belly below the ribs,i wondered if anyone else had this many scans without seeing any pups and then their bitch went onto have a litter,all help appreciated,louzola

Hi there,My bitch is 58 days as big as a barrel and still no confirmation,she was scanned at 35 days,1 vet has told me shes 98% sure she is but will not commit herself to 100%,this is her 1st litter and maiden bitches are alot tighter,all the insides are so neat and tucked some bitches dont drop until they go into labour,her ribs are nearing bursting point,boobs are hitting the floor,nice white discharge oh yeah she a lab that thinks shes a cat at the mo sitting on my lap and coming to the shower with me.,i am at my witts end aswell,some vet told me that she has absorbed because he couldnt feel anything, but i still think she is not as far gone as 58 days thats frm her 1st mating and she might well be 54 days from 2nd only time will tell.Good luck anyway. just cause the scan said no pups dont take it as gospel as many breeders will tell you.Julia

hi,thankyou for mailing me,i find out tomorrow so will let you know,my bitch is bigger on one side and has gained 12lb in 6 half wks so something is happening,i just hope its not phantom but she doesnt seemed bothered about toys or anything,on previous scans ive always seen pups but not this time although she thinks she is and acting it so ive gone along with her,one more day then i will know,good luck with yours too,all the best,louzola

hi sandridge,well ive had the bllod test results and they are inconclusive,the vet said results were a weak positive so im still no better off,lol,just my luck to be told that,and tonight ive seen a little creamy discharge on the end of her and i think this is a very good sign,so i guess i will just have to keep hoping,cheers,louzola
