I know dogs should'nt eat grapes and chocolate, is there anything else they should definately not eat. The breeder of my 8 week pup said she had been feeding them scrambled eggs, tuna, hotdogs, ravioli etc said they would eat anything, is this ok. I have been feeding her similar things as i dont want to swop her straight on to pup food and give her an upset belly. Will this be bad for her, how should i gradually change her diet ? Give her a bit of pup food mixed in with her meals or give her one meal of pup food and increase this to all her meals ? im confused
What??
is this a joke or something a breeder feeding hotdogs, tuna etc to a puppy
whats is this world coming to puppies should be on puppy food not junk foods, onion is also very bad for dogs dont feed this can be fatal,
get a good puppy food and start feeding your puppy this it will contain all the vitamins, minerals etc that your puppy requires for good health and growth
sorry for not being more helpful someone else hwo knows best will be along to help you soon ,i hope
Mandy
ps what breed is this? also would be great if you registered here to

I think she means hotdog sausages, not hotdogs :d so no onions would be there. Still not a diet that I'd feed mine on though.

Hello Guest, T:-) thumper is right junk food is not the best thing to feed a growing puppy on. You don't say what breed so not sure of the size? The egg is fine and tuna ok as long as not in brine. If you want to start feeding a complete food switch gradually by adding a little of it at a time to the 'normal food'. Normal food safe for puppies includes raw egg (or cooked) and puppy milk with honey, porridge, rice with chicken, fish (including tin pilchards and sardines not in brine) mince, veg . Good luck with your new puppy :-)
Ps. If you do a 'food' search on this site you will see lots of info on the best complete foods to feed and Barf diets. I feed Burns http://www.burns-pet-nutrition.co.uk/ and if you contact them they will send samples to try, there are other good ones as those mentioned on this site but I would steer clear of the mass produced foods in supermarkets.

Thanks for the advice, they also fed her rice pudding, boiled rice and normal milk, will these foods have done her any damage, she's a SBT by the way !

Hi bogy no damage to your lovely little staffy :-) although some dogs can't tolerate cows milk and it is not the best thing to give your puppy, it will have done no harm. I have known lots of farmers who fed their dogs cows milk and scraps and these dogs survived. If you feed the above you should have a little round healthy puppy :-D
