Hi,
well last year my lil girl molly was having a normal pregnancey , till 65 days and no sighn of whelping i was worried took her to the vets who said she only had 1 puppy, but that was fine at least she had somthing then he said it would have to be a c section if that wasint bad enough the puppy had cleft palet it was the most heart breaking feeling !
but my lil girl did get over it and is as happy as ever and after alot of tossing and turning talking and talking we have took her for a mateing again today, so now i will be like a nervouse reck for the next 9 weeks ! we are taking her back on sunday following breeders advice, all i hope is that it all turns out ok for my lil molly she is such a character !

Good luck - hope everything goes better for Molly this time
Yvonne

Good luck..................we too are going to be in the same position as you, my girl over the past couple of days has aborted 9 pups, I too will have to decide if we want to have her mated again, at the moment things are too raw, maybe time will heal who knows.
Anyway good luck to you, I'm sure everything will be fine this time!

Hi sharon
my heart goes out to you and your little girl, it is a hard time when this happens
of all the times to happen it happened xmas eve, and my boys were waiting at the window waiting for the bundle of joy,
but it wasint to be i felt very guilty and very low for a while but then me and my molly picked ourselvs up started our long walks and chats!
and she is as good as new, thank god i diddint loose her too ,
i really am so sorry to hear your sad news i know its hard but try and keep your chin up,
what breed is she sharon ? and what has your vet said about all that is going on with her .
with love sarah & molly ( thinking of you )

She's a cocker spaniel..........I think it's the guilt that hurts the most, knowing it was me that decided to let her have this litter, but she is taking it all in her stride, still eating, drinking, playing with my other girls as normal, we're actually up to number 13 now my vet want's to see us first thing on Monday morning..........but any problems over the weekend I can call her home number and she will see us immediately. This would have been my 5th litter (not just from her) and I've never had anything happen like this before, especially 13 would have been pups!! I just wish she would have missed or reabsorbed then I would have been none the wiser.
I'm sure in time I will feel better, but like you say you feel so low at the time and that's exactly how I am feeling at the moment. I too am thankful that she is good in herself.......its so disheartening though isn't it! She lies in her bed looking at me with those big soft brown eyes and I start crying again :-(
Good luck to you and hopefully this will be be again in 6 months time!
Sharon
hi mollymoles,im sorry to hear of your previos bad news,if you put your bitch on folic acid immediatly after mating its supposed to help with defects in puppies and does help stop cleft palates, ive got bulldogs myself and always put them on this and touch wood we have been ok so far,its safe to give as i know a lot of people who give it and there arnt many breeds as difficult as the bulldog to breed, hope this helps, louzola

Just to add that my girl was on folic acid from a week before mating and even now I'm giving it, maybe I've just been extremely unlucky!
Hi all,
I have heard that wheatgerm oil can help with fertility and reduce the chance of the pups being reabsorbed. Has anyone ever tried it? Or know of anyone who has?
Best of luck with the current mating - I hope it all goes well!
Fiona

I am giving wheatgerm oil capsules too, always have done with each pregnancy!

Hi
thanks louzolaand sharon and fiona and yvonne,
its great when you have support,
do you no what really gets up my nose, there is a women across the road from me who has a drink problem and the dog isint treated very well !BUT her bitch got out she diddint even know she was pregnant so no extra food or vitamins or checks to the vet or any worrying about her, and guess what she deliverd in the middle of the night 4 healthy puppys no complications im happy for the dog dont get me wrong but we do all the worrying buying special things doing it all right vet checks the lot and we get a kick in the teeth like this !
maybe our little girls can sence the worry we have, i really dont know any way i will keep you all posted on molly's progress .
take care sarah & molly x

I know it makes you really cross doesn't it, a lady I know actually takes her bitch for breeding then leaves the poor girl to get on with it.........and these are pedigree dogs and pups! She always ends up with healthy litters too!
