I got mine from the above link. I got the large one, which ended up being a waste of money since she only had one. But I must admit I was quite pleased with it.

I made one.  It doesn't have a solid floor, just the sides.  I have used vet bed (bronteglen special offer) underneath, over plastic sheeting.  It's quite spacious.  I went to get the ply cut to shape and they had offcuts for 50p a piece - bargain.  Its made of the black ash veneer so wipable too.  Rails cost me £1.60 each and I needed 2 x 8' lengths to cut to fit.  Easy peasy - even for a girl!

get two sheets of perspex (think it is 4x3 in length and with). Cut it in half so that you have four sheets. use white perspex if possible as it is easier to see the dirt than using say black. Put screws or nails in to each of the corners so that it is secure making sure non are left exposed leaving you with a u shaped frame that will be three sided. use some duct tape and run a strip down the two corners of the u shaped box to add extra support. To add pig rails you can use broom handles which you cut to size then screw in from either end. With the peice of perspex that you have left cut it in half again and that way you can add or take away a peice when the puppies are getting bigger and trying to escape!

I make mine with contiboard (from B&Q etc who cut to size)  I make the sides and the base seperate, with "L"brackets and bolts wiht wing nuts to join them, this way you make the base a bit bigger than the area made by the top, put small slits in the vet bed to fit over the nuts, then fit the top over and fasten the brackets down onto the nuts, so holding the vet bed firmly in place so the bitch can dig to her hearts content, and the vet bed never moves, and pups simply cant get lost under it.  Have been making this style for about the last 9 years now (am on to model 3 with Mabel, this one has little castor wheels on the bottom).  It dimsatles for storeage, assemble in a few minutes, is easy to wipe down.  I have a new approach to my pig rails with this one, and instead of using broom handle or similar, have used 2" polypipe -so far seems ideal, but only been in use for about 36 hours so far!

I bought the large size disposable "birthing box"(50 pounds) when i had my first litter and the rails just kept falling out of the holes, then the whole thing just seemed to collapse, lol, on one side so i wouldnt bother again it was a complete waste of money. The last time i used my sons old wardrobe, turned it on its back, removed the doors and my hubby cut a square out of one end so the bitch could get in and out with ease, after we just threw it out(well burnt it on the bonfire),again completely disposable.Obviously if your not thinking of replacing any wardrobes at the moment(chances are your not lol)then why not search the free-ads as you could pick one up for about 10/15pounds,just dissenfect it out and there you have it!!!
