My brothers bitch plug  went on Monday and no puppies yet. her due date is tomorrow. she is her normal self no digging no panting no going off her food.   is this ok as she is due TOMORROW.

My Benny's plug went two weeks before her due date, which had me rushing to the vet!  He said that basically if the puppies did come that there was nothing they could do.  Thankfully, she didn't actually go in to labour until D-Day, which was a great relief!

Skye woke me at 6.30am crying and carrying a noisy toy which she is treating as a pup.Panting and digging since then. Her whole body shook for a while ,vet says she is just getting ready.I am worried as labs are supposed to be easy whelpers .No sign of straining and cries when she left whelping box to go to pee.Any advice even if its to take vallium.

My advice would be not to worry!  Ooh there's me being the expert having only done it once a few days ago!  Don't panic as long as she isn't straining.  My bitch dug almost to the other side of the earth and spent ALL DAY restless.  After what seemed like an endless wait I noticed she was sitting in a puddle and 20 seconds later there was a pup!  I didn't see her strain at all.  All the pups arrived easily.  She didn't leave her whelping box for about 36 hours, I carried her into the garden and she ran straight back in.  My suggestion is to get some rest as the first few days afterwards are so tiring you wouldn't believe.  You might need the valium for yourself tomorrow!

Hi there hope everything is going ok??? i have my sisters Lab here and she whelped on Tuesday. Ended up with 8 puppies, she had her 1st at 6.04pm but no more at 7.50pm so took her to the vets for oxytocin then on the way home had another pup  had her last one at 3.30am...

Congrats!  Glad everything went well.  The worrying has only just begun!

I panicked this morning as I came down to find no puppies in the box.  Mum had moved them out and had dragged a blanket from the sofa to the floor to put them on.  I guess she was too warm in her box!
