Pups Should not run up and down stairs, not only because they may fall and hurt themselfs.but because it can damage their growing bones( esp large breed dogs).

With SBTs it's not recommended to let them use stairs until at least six months of age as their musculoskeletal system is not fully formed and they could do themselves permanent damage. Not to mention the risks of falling or tripping you up.

my ten week old pup only goes down stairs when i get something out of the same cupboard that her food lives in, the only problem is tho before people shout at me!! that our front door is on the ground floor but she lives in the kitchen which is in the basement area, so running uo and down the stairs can not realy be avoided, but i try to minimise the times that she does it

I invested in a stairgate to stop pups going up and down stairs when they shouldn't.

Agree, should definately get a stair gate, no stairs for at least 12 months!
