I just have to tell someone - YIPEEEEEEEE :D My OH got the job he applied for up in Edinburgh, so we shall be leaving the South East and moving North. OMG, so much to do, OMG, I am sooooooooo excited :) The bad news is that I have just received a letter telling me I have to go into hospital for 2 weeks this Monday :( I knew it was going to happen but I've been trying to forget about it for the last couple of weeks - I'm scared and I hate hospitals but I know I have to do this and I need to be fit and healthy for my big move.
:) Jax :( (mixed emotions!)
Oh Scotland, you lucky thing!
Good luck with the hospital visit, it's nice that you have some good news to cancel out the bad and you'll have something to look forward to when it's all over. :)
Hope it all goes well and also with the move too. :)

Thanks Kath, we are both originally from Scotland - one from the East coast and one from the West coast

We always said, that when we retired we would move back to Scotland, it's just happened a bit earlier than we expected - OH is only 33!!!!! ;)

Great news Jax about OH's job and your return home :D Another place to consider house hunting is Dunbar - my ex-OH and his wife have bought there fairly recently and are pleased with their choice of location, plus they seem to be finding the commute into Edinburgh from there fine.
Good luck with your hospital stay :)

Hi Lesley
Thanks very much. Dunbar was one of the first places I thought of when OH applied for the job in Edinburgh but as we only have one car OH will be commuting by train. I checked the timetables on 'the trainline' website and there is only ONE train an hour into Edinburgh from Dunbar :( it is a fast train so I presume it is the London train.

Hi Jax
I'll dig out my ex's email address and ask him about the train services etc - I think Dunbar is becoming very popular due to the prices in Edinburgh, so maybe the commuting links are improving? I'll let you know when I hear back from him :)
Lesley
Fantastic your getting home Jax :) I may be biased but Edinburgh is a good place to be. If house prices worry you watch out in East Lothian where its expensive, West Lothian is rapidly following suit while Midlothian ( Dalkeith, Cousland etc) has some lovely settings and can be affordable but dosent have as good links into Edinburgh unless you like buses. hope your hospital stay goes well.
