I'm not going into the "in's" & "out's" of a matter but I wanted to know...how seriously would the police treat a poision pen matter if the said document could be taken in for finger printing and what sort of charge could be made if there was found to be a case?
Thanks
Christine

The author could be done for harassment at the very least

Thank you all for your answers.
I sent an email to my dad who is an ex-Met Police sergeant and he said similar.
Yes Dill, unfortunately, there are some less than desirable, unethical people around.

Harrassment is being taken very seriously at the moment, with good reason. A friend had a problem with a neighbour in her street who made threats to other parents and their children. An incident happened and she was 'brought to book'.
Take it further to put a stop to it.
Good luck.

Dont forget lily munster the police may well get more than just fingerprints from it..Whoever sealed the envelope may well have licked it - leaving their DNA! It should be taken very seriously.
