This will be my 1st show with both my pups, although not old enough until August. Can anyone please tell me what I need to take with me to the shows, 1 black lab and 1 yellow lab. And also, do I just enter them into minor puppy dog and bitch classes or do I enter them into puppy classes as well. They will be 6 months on 31st July. Many thanks

The classes you enter are a matter of preference.I only ever enter one class first time out but that is just me...there is no harm in entering two if you wish.
I take....
entry passes
benching chains
suitable collar and lead for showing
grooming eqiupment for your breed(we only take a brush)
towel
water and bowl
money
pen for marking catalogue
treats
sure I fogotten lots...thats why I always make a list the night before I go!!!!!

That sounds right to me Archer it is exactly what I take, 2 towles if the weather is or has been wet. Also take a plasters, a pain killer of some type and piriton.

Did you forget the kitchen sink & fridge Jackie ;) I always have them LOL

Were you joking about the fridge - I always have one with me during the summer.  One of those that plugs into a cigarette lighter and is like a large cool box :)

The most important thing to remember to take is the dog and lead although if you don't have a lead there is generally someone who will lend you one.

Are the pain killers for the dogs ... or head-ache tablets for you? :D

Biggest headache comes when you go to attach your ring number and discover no ringclip or armband.

Thanks All, 10 weeks to go and I am soooo nervous gawd knows what I will be like when the day arrives. I have written up a list and also put dogs on it at the bottom, so they are last to go in car, and not left sitting behind kitchen door.

Don't worry!...it doesn't get any better LOL!!!!! I still get all worked up before and at shows ..just wish my 2 year old elkie would get a bit excited too!
I've just sent off the entry for my pups first champ show...its not till August but I'm excited/nervous/wound up etc etc...just hoping my 'ugly spud' will look a bit better in 8 weeks time!

When we take Penny to shows this is what we usually take:

2 liters of water
2 dog bowls (just in case :D )
A half check collar (doesn't mess the fur up as a buckle collar does)
Her leash
Our show lead (black, thin, nylon)
Treats
2 towels
A sheet to pin around Penny (in case it rains or gets windy)
A cover that keeps her ears up and out of the way of dirt, water, ect.. (I can't remember the name for it now, but I know it,  Ice Queen help here!!)
Grooming tools (comb, pin brush, scissors)
Pin and rubber band for attaching the entry number
First aid box (1 for humans 1 for dogs)
Money
Dogs

Thats all I can remember for the moment.  :)
