Our Grand Basset pup Daisy is 9 weeks and has been on Pedigree Puppy, the breeder recommended we gradually move her onto Beta puppy, which we are doing at the momment , just been reading all post's on Burns and was wondering if anyone could recommed which would benefit her more, she seems happy with beta but then again she would eat anything I put in front of her at this age.

I moved my pup from Beta puppy to Burns and the amount of waste out of the other end has halved :D :D

If you are going to change I would go for Burns, it is a much better quality :)

I found Beta suited my Dandie very well, she lived to 15 having been fed on it most of her life.  I also reared a couple of very healthy litters on it.  If your breeder has recommended it I presume it tends to suit the breed and as yours is doing fine on it I would be guided by that.

Found Burns Mini Bites too small a kibble for my hounds and they ate so quickly they choked themselves, so having taken them off Beta I put them back on it and transferred them to adult food before the reached 6 months, have to say they have all done well.

Depends on the reasons you choose petfoods really I suppose.

If I was going to choose a pet food on ethical grounds than I would go for one that came from a company that does not conduct experiments on animals.  Burns is one of the few companies animal food companies that have passed the BUAV stringent tests for that.

If I was choosing a brand that gave optimum nutrition with no fillers or unecessary artificial additives/colourings/preservatives or salts/sugars then I would choose Burns over Beta or Pedigree.

When choosing a food it is important to research the brands, most of whom are on the net, and to look at the ingredients and understand exactly what you are paying for. Some brands alas do not cite what is in their food unless you dig extremely deep................

Just because a dog consumes the food it is given is no indicator of quality, value.or health, these are after all animals that lick their own bottoms and eat excrement, putrid flesh and all sorts of other dubious items!   :D

I choose my petfoods on the basis of what gives them a fit, active, long life :)  The "fillers" in Beta suited Nellie very well, JWB which billed itself as a "low-output" food caused her severe constipation and others kicked off her colitis.
