AThe average bitch's pregnancy lasts 63 days. Really, that is basic information that a breeder should know before mating. :( If the owner of the bitch doesn't know the simple things like that, s/he is likely to have great problems. I would recommend immediate purchase and cover-to-cover reading of "The Book of the Bitch" by J.M. Evans and Kay White.

Is the beagle one of the early whelpers? One breed which for the life of me I can't remember is approx 58 days  I am sure I read it in the book OTB..,  regardless though whatever it is hopefully they would know..
