Hi All, wondering if anyone might be able to help?..Tally has a few lady problems and I was just wondering if anyone might have had anything similar with their dogs. she is now 10 months old, we had her spayed at 6 months as recommended by the vet, however before being seyed she seemed to have a bout of vaginitus/an infection, she recovered and was speyed, this has continued though, a nasty discharge and occasional blood - we have had so many tests and scans & courses of antibiotics..to see if there was anything else that could be contrbuting to this, we had an endoscopy yesterday as everything was negative..and again this came back negative. the vets are saying that puppy vaginitus usually clear up after the first season..however due to us having her speyed this cant happen so they have put her on a short course of oestrogen, to try and mimic a season and hopefully clear up these recurring problems..has anyone got any similar experience..the vets have been great and I have every faith in them..but I would just be interested in other peoples opinions..thanks as always, Kellie

Mmmmm it's a bit late now to say this but I think you may be stuck with the problem due to spaying her before her first season. My family have owned a couple of bitches over the years that have had this problem but it sorted itself out following their first season. Perhaps your vet could prescribe an HRT to complete her maturity?
Just read the whole post properly.......:)..... your vet seems set on the appropriate course of action without even reading my post :D

Acid Nit 30c homoeopathic remedy from Ainsworths may help.

This can happen and it is one of the problems of spaying before the bitch is mature, HRT is the best way to go but that in it's self carries risks, as hormones are steroids and long term use of hormones not manufactured by the bitches own body can cause problems, so if you can get her off it, I would do so. By the way HRT is expensive so as your vet advised the spaying perhaps they will supply the drug FOC.

she is only on the hormones for 14 days..to see if there is any difference..there are another couple of options of giving her more hormones for a longer term, or doing nothing..in the hope that it might rectify itself..she is completely fine in herself and is not in pain at all...just wondered if anyone has actually come through this and what has worked for them?
Thanks for your help, esp Tohme I will check out that homeopatic remedy
