Poor Leon is not very well at all, really bad sickness and diarrhoea so took him to the vets this morning and they gave me antibiotics and rehydration treatment for him but said he looked otherwise healthy. I was worried as he was off his food for the first time. Throughout the day he has perked up a bit and eaten some chicken and rice but I have just got home from work and he is really ill again (he hasn't been by himself but it's 3:40 am so all other people asleep in house). Bless him he was going out to be sick but now it's raining so he is standing in the doorway hanging his head out. So proud of him for being so clean but worried it has started up again so violently. Do you think he will be ok? The vet said to give it a couple of days to calm down but I don't feel I can go to bed and leave him in this state. Looks like i'm in for a long one....By the way not expecting anyone else is as mad as me and still up!

If you have just bought your pup home it is not at all unusual for the pup to have an upset tummy for a week or so. It is just a case of the bugs in your home being different to those in the home of the breeder, with my last pup I brought home some of the breeders water and this was the first time I have bought in a pup that did not have a session on loose stools. May be giving the pup only bottled water for a week and then changing onto the tap water slowly as you would if changing the pups diet.

Hi, how old is Leon & does he have a temp? If he`s still the same later today I`d go back the vet. It`s not worth feeding him if he`s still bringing it back so instead give him the liquid from the cooked chicken to drink for now & add some honey to his drinking water.

Sorry I was not very clear, he is 5 months old so has been with us for a while. Seems a bit better today thank goodness but still a bit miserable poor thing. The vet said his temp was fine yesterday. Will try giving him chickeny water and honey water and see how he gets on with that....

Glad he seems bit better today then :) If he was younger & still the same I`d taken him back. Seems like a/bs are kicking in, hope he feels better soon :)

Hi Charlie :-) poor little Leon..you might try letting him lick a little honey off your finger..being only a tiny amount it won't make him sick..and it must be comforting to a dog eaten this way like being with his mum :-D
