Hi,some of you may remember my post a few weeks back regarding green discharge and my concerns as my bitch had missed last time despite showing all positive signs up till 6 weeks.Well i took her for her scan today (33 days first mating,29 days last mating)and yipeeee we have puppies at last.The only thing is,the vet couldnt detect any heart beats but assured me that wasnt a problem as its only a pin prick size at the moment and can be missed.He estimated that by the size of the embryo she is about 28 days??I am hoping its not a case of they have died(maybe a few days ago,hence his reckoning on 28 days) and she will absorb them in the next week or so,sorry to be negative but have any of you experienced this,any thoughts or comments apprieciated,many thanks.

Your girl may have only ovulated 28 days ago, so she caught pregnant the day after her day 29 mating..........if that makes sense.  Are you having her scanned again?

Hi sharon,thanks for replying.Yes i see what you mean about the "catching"the day after the last mating,its just i panicked a bit because of her missing before,lol,but i will just have to relax a bit.The vet did say i could take her back in a weeks time if i want to,but to be honest i'd rather wait now as she's not the best for travelling and i'd rather not stress her too much,thanks again.

I will be having my girl scanned in 2 weeks time as she ovulated rather late, days 19/20, just to check she is pregnant.......so fingers crossed, ALL PUPS HAVE BEEN RESERVED if she is pregnant!

A stethoscope will tell you when they are 45 days in whelp without a scan as you can hear the heart beats generally. Only time I have heard of difficulty hearing is if it is a large breed with few puppies.  Bitch can stay safe at home. :-)

we only had the one mating so it was easier
to predict the date and mine were born to the day expected ....(MINE ARE NOT FOR SALE) hope all goes well for you and your girl
