I've been told that putting a teasp. tom.ketchup in dog food will prevent urine stains on grass.  Anyone heard of this and if it works, and is it safe for the dogs (I thought it would be very salty).

There are a variety or 'cures' around - but to me, messing with the natural chemistry of an animals vital systems are too big a gamble.  If the burns in the grass bother you - try watering it well in with a little vinegar in the water......

...or try put watered down tomato ketchup on the grass, the theory is the vitamin c will stop the grass being damaged :-)

I wouldnt have thought tomato ketchup would do any good at all, perhaps feeding lots of tomato puree or fresh tomatos, but really , i agree with the other posters, dont let the dog wee where burn marks will matter, or water them well in , messing with the dogs internal workings when its your lawn that has the problem isnt the right way to go.
