I am very lucky that I can take my 4 dogs to work with me,Its right out in the country surrounded by fields, its lovely, only problem is that my 10 month old westie keeps finding the badger poo, its not just a little roll in it but a complete bath, I must admit that it really is so funny to look at her, anyway is it all right to bath her so often, yesterday she did it and I just washed her down with the hose pipe, but she pongs a bit.

Its amazing how you seem to get used to those smells but my most annoying time that this happened was when we were at a show and in the lunch break we walked in the field at the back of the venue. This field was the rugby pitch didn't give it a thought let them off and one reappeared almost immediately dripping all over in fresh green cow poo. She was first in the ring after lunch. Luckily it was a very hot day and there was a cattle trough with clean water nearby. I put her in it and quickly swished the water over before the cow poo dried and penetrated the coat. I then ran round the field back to the car, hadn't got a towel but got the dog blanket out and rubbed her down.
She dried off and went in the ring and won her class!! I thought why did I bother with all the blow drying the day before.
By the way she is a golden retriever, fortunately with a straightish coat.

Try diluting tomato ketchup in a pint of water and rinsing through. Rinse with plenty of clean water after.

We found with fox poo it leaves a horrible green coloured mess on Spice's coat, she's a black/white b.c. and always rolls her lovely white neck in it! so it is unavoidable using some shampoo on her,but we usually just wash the smelly, green area :D
I suppose they are doing it to mask their own smell for hunting,by rolling in anything even remotely disgusting? If I catch Spice in time and say a firm NO! she will leave it alone, but often on a return walk if we are retracing the same path I forget it's there, but she never does

Oh don't you just love them!:0) I know my sister in law went out late one night with her long haired gsd and he, without her knowing, rolled in some foxes poo. She didn't realise till the next morning. He had been asleep in the nice warm kitchen all night. :0)

Yes, Anton loves to roll in fox poo or anything that's been dead for a while, he always manages to find it, no matter how big the field!
