Last night my youngest rabbit Maisie had a stroke and had to be put to sleep. :( Was absolutely horrible, to see she was in so much pain. My Dad had to take her to the vets because I was so upset. That Leaves Willow all on her own, she has always had company, when her Mum died we bought Maisie to keep her company, so now I'm worried about how she will cope, but I don't really want to get another bunny, because then the cycle will go on forever, is this being cruel? I'm going to bring her in for lots of cuddles every night though.
The vet said 4 was an average age for a rabbit but I thought this was really young, my last rabbit to go was 11 and Willow is 7 now, and is still like a baby.

So sorry to hear about Maisie. It's awful when we loose a pet. I hope you're ok.

Sorry to hear you news. :(
Rachel as long as you give her plenty of attention then no, it's not being cruel at al, just keeping her on her own.
I too would have said four was a young age for rabbits. I keep guinea pigs and they live longer than that.

That is sad news, I'm sorry.
Don't worry about your rabbit being on it's own, I've had the same problem too. One of my girls died last year and I also made the decision not to get another one. They had been together for 6 years and I worried about my remaining girl being lonely. Her hutch and run are near the house and so I keep an eye on her all the time. She seems fine, especially with this lovely sunshine. I'm always popping out to see her and as long as she gets her 5 cheerios evey morning she's happy !.
Of course, there is always the possibility that introducing another rabbit to her wouldn't have been successful which would have been worse. She is now 7 and might not have accepted another one.

Pleased to say she seems to be coping ok so far. She's been eating all of her food but hasn't been drinking very much.
I'll bring her into the house for an hour or so tonight for a cuddle though :)

I have four babies if you want one.... :) :)
I am sure your bunny will be fine. I have 8 at the moment and it would be much easier with one!!
I would love one! :D But then I would have rabbits for the rest of my life!
