hi just wanted to share my news with you all we brought Kisska home a week past on Thursday @8weeks old, :-D :-D she met our other 2 dogs 1 at a time in the back garden, the first night they didnt know what to make of each other but boy oh boy have they settled down nicely now lol ;-) ,Zar our 10 year old is finally getting a break from Kira our 20month old GSD as Kisska and Kira are great friends even snuggle up together occasionaly to sleep awee lol,i am spending as much time with Kisska also as i want her to bond with me and not just Kira  :-O lol, in the 11 days tha she has been here she has only wee'd in the house 5-6 times which i think is great!! and it helps that the weather has been so great the back door is open the majority of the day of course i am praising her when she does go outside :-), nightime was another story we were up 3 times a night for the 1st week and she wasnt always settling down after she had been let out but the light is finally at the end of the tunnel :-) for 3 nights in a row she settled all night until 5 - 5 .30 in the morning out for a wee then straight back in and back to sleep and last night she lasted till 6.30!! she is a little star :-) she lets us know that she is awake and needs out no messing in the house, well thats about it just wanted to share my joy and excitement with you all and let you know how our new arrival was settling in :-D , if any1 would like to see her p.m me or e-mail me @ titch4coco@msn.com and i will send you a link to her piccies, oh and she is a light red and white Siberian Husky for any1 who is wondering lol

Congrats on your new puppy she sounds to have settled in really well in to the home and getting on with your boys. Well done you on acclimatizing her so quick cos it is no mean feat and is hard work if you dont get it right from the start.

I imagine you are really chuffed,  Having a new puppy is a very special time and it goes so quickly, it is lovely to see them developing and finding out about their world.

I have an eight month beagle boy who is so precious and was the most adorable cutest puppy and I cant believe how much he has grown since we brought him home as a squeaking tiny little dot.

Enjoy Enjoy and I would love to see pix of your baby.  She sounds beautiful.

Sorry but I saw the name for the pup and I started laughing. :)   I am serious now, it's not a joke (I speak Russian). Kisska is Russian for "Little Kitty".  :D :D

But don't worry, just don't tell Kisska what her name means. :D  ;)  One of our cats is from Russia, that's how I know.

Anyway, congratulations on your pup.  Ours is about 12 weeks old now, and we are really working on housetraining. He sleeps from 12:00 till about 7:30 in the morning(he sleeps in my bed, I wasn't strong enough :D).

I would love some pics of Kisska, my email address is  gordonandvall@yahoo.co.uk.  If you like I can also send you some of my boy. :)

Kisska, kisa, kiska (with stress on the i, like Key) is an affectionate term for cat.  Katyonok is kitten, koshka means cat or female cat, and kot being tom cat.  The Russian way to say Katarina is Ekatrina with Katya, Katenka, and Katuska being dimutives(sp?), with the meaning of these names being "pure" (you were right). :)   I may be wrong though.  :)

If you pronounce it KEY-ska or KI-ska then it would be as in russian for cat.  :D   As you use it for a name, it is KISS-ka, not KI-ska,  you're right.
