lel.I did a big search on a problem and in september last year you posted that you had one that was scared of doorways.Well,I've got Razina's brother staying for 2 weeks and my friend who owns him thought he was scared of wooden floors as when he went to training or to mine he put the brakes on and it's all wooden floors BUT I've since discovered it's not that at all it's doorways, just certain ones that he doesn't like, never experienced this.I have now closed off the patio doors(only ones he will go through) and am making him use back door to get in and out of house,I would be very grateful for any help or advice, have done the usual things, titbits, coaxing etc, have also laid his dinner down just out of reach and he howls like a baby but still won't come in,should I leave him to it?(he is in a covered area just outside the door and weather is fab)

Hi Sandaharr
what breed is he and how old ?
Gus is fine now and isnt bothered at all . I think its this "tigers under the bed " stage - whereby they become afraid of normal everyday things that dont usually bother them . I would just leave him and if he needs to or wants to come through that doorway he will eventually.
:) It was only "certain" doorways for gus as well.
It should pass eventually - it did for Gus :)
Hi,thanks for getting back to me.He is a boerboel(mastiff) and only 6 months but he has been like this for the last 3 months my friend said.I gave her a row because he hasn't had the proper socialization that he should have had and I feel I'm getting the brunt of this as everything here is so different for him,no comfort zone. One good thing,my dogs are so good together and with others that they have accepted him and his ways no problem, sandra.
