We got a great big kennel for Leon to go in the garden today (to give him a bit of shade now dare I say we see the sun?) He went in and had a sniff around but came back out again. Will he just get used to it or can I do something to make him realise it's his space? Should I just maybe get a nice bone and put it in there for him or just leave him to explore? At the moment its big enough for about 6 of him, but he's used to plenty of space in his crate, never been a problem before.

The way I introduced my dogs to their kennel was to put their crate in there.  I also fed them there and they soon realised it was their space, just like a much larger cage!

I would put a bed (cover?blanket? ) and something in the kennel that smells of you..wear old shirt or other  for a bit then put it in
:-D

when we introduced a crate we found the best thing was feeding them in their and also having a game - that way it is always a pleasurable experienced.
