Hi to all
I use frontline on my westie, the spot on treatment. My question really is what other people think of this treatment. i have no doubt that it is effective, but it strikes me that putting a dose of pesticide directly onto any animal that will be effective for up to two months must surely have side effects. Also it stands to reason that I am getting a 'dose' as even if I try not to touch him for a few days after treatment he weill invariably find to touch me and he sleeps on the bed and sofa anyway. I have read that garlic can be an alternative but is there any info/research on how this compares on safety and effectiveness?

I use frontline on my dog, but don't seem to notice it getting on me. I must say I find it is effective for longer than a month, so do not use it monthly, more like 3 monthly.
I think garlic only really deters fleas, but doesn't kill them. With cats and children, I like to know my house is flea free all the time.

Has anyone had any reactions to frontline. I have noticed that when I used it on one dog that a raised area (skin) on the back from the withers to croup happened the next day and went down after a week or so. But the fur got discoloured. I am not going to use the solution on the neck now.
Has anyone had an experience of the same thing happening ?
