Does anybody know of any good venues in the middle of the country say the Midlands where seminars etc. could be held?  Also do you know of any safe water in this area which could be used for demonstrations etc.

Haddenham Village hall is a large hall with lots of parking. It is used a lot for dog shows, and is located in the village centre, very easy to find. No water though. Haddenham is 15 minutes from Aylesbury and about 20 from the M40, half an hour from Oxford. It may be it is a bit further south than your requested area, but for anyone looking for a venue it is a good hall to use, with kitchen facilities, and side rooms.
