I have been allowing my 9 week old choc lab (just had first vaccination) to go outside in fenced off back garden after consulting vet, because no un vaccinated dogs or foxes (that we know of) can get in.  However tonight  i saw a hedgehog in the garden, does anybody know if they can pass anything on to my pup.  Thanks in advance :-)

Well they have fleas, but your pup is unlikely to get near enought to catch em as investigation will get him/her a pricked nose. I wouldnt worry about it. Id love a hedgehog in my garden to eat the slugs and snails that abound, but they dont come in despite lures of cat food - the resident moggies probably eat it first.
