Anyone know of any breeders in the UK? If not, what chances do I have of importing one of these dogs from the mainland as they are known to be associated with dog fighting and in the past, bull-baiting (their temperament is a cross oF a APBT & Am. Bulldog). Not that I want the dog for these reasons I just want one as a pet but don't know if it's worth the bother of trying to import one when it would probably be refused into the UK.. It is also known as the Perro De Presa Mallorquin, Ca De Bou and the Mallorquin Mastiff.
Thanks in advance.

Don't really understand your post.
>>do I have of importing one of these dogs from the mainland <<
what mainland, do you live on one of the Islands, what is it you are asking? Perhaps you would like to post again and try to make it clearer what it is you want to know.

Oh sorry. What I was asking was are there any known breeders of the Mallorquin Bulldog (aka Ca De Bou, Perro de Presa Maollorquin or the Mallorquin Mastiff) in the U.K. I'm from Scotland and was wondering if I could buy one from the UK instead of having to go to mailnland Euprope and have one imported. Supposing I do have to look to mainland Europe what chances do I have of actually importing this breed as it is known to have a nature very similar to that of the APBT and it was also used as a fighting dog in the past. Would I be able to bring this breed into the UK or what?
Thanks in advance.

Sorry I have no idea, guess you must have experience with the breed to want it so much but I don't know if there are any in the UK or how the law would regard them. Is there no a similar breed you would consider instead.

As far as I know the only named breeds on the DDA (spit) are the APBT, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino and the Fila Brasiliero. However, it does state that it's against the law to own any dog "known as a pit bull" so you could have problems importing a dog from Europe if it is of pit bull type. I haven't actually heard of the Mallorquin Bulldog - sounds very interesting! I'm personally considering a Cane Corso for my next dog - everything I've heard of them sounds fantastic! Email me, K9lover, I may be able to help as a few people I know are knowledgeable about rarer bullterrier breeds.
Just looked them up on Google - they look very much like BullMastiffs, don't they? Also by the sounds of it they're incredibly rare which would lead me to believe they would be very expensive and any breeder would have a very long waiting list.
there are some people connected to the breeders in the uk.go to mastini board in google and go to the message board.steve barnett will be able to hook you up im sure,
