Hi Tracey
where did you go for the photograph? We had one done at a show when Gus was much younger - not a very good one but we are looking to do another now that Gus has filled out more :)
You will have to let us all see the pic when its done :)

Yes, I did, and then about 2 years later the photo turned up on fridge magnets etc at shows

The first time I saw my boy "for sale" I said to the stall holder, "That's my dog!" and he explained the company that made the items had bought a lot of negatives from the photographer to use on the products. Nothing I could do since it seems the photographer had retained copyright, so I bought a couple of the fridge magnets, but I drew the line at a wall clock with him on :D
Lesley
Edited to say; come to think of it, he actually charged me for the magnets, even though I had the evidence it was my dog on the end of a lead :) He might at least have let me have one free ;)

Lesley,
If you explain to the lady who owns the stall, she is pretty fair....my Addison is the "Munster model" from a photo I submitted to them and she gave me a couple for free....actually I quite like the idea of the clock for my kitchen. When I see that stand, I never seem to have enough money with me!
EDITED to add: Every year, a couple who took one of my puppies, send me a professionally taken photo of her as my Christmas present. It's lovely to receive and such a nice gesture.

Thanks Christine, I must have got either her OH or someone working for her! I think I was just taken aback to see his photo turn up on the items :) Still, its actually quite a nice thought that one of mine is the Spinone in the range :D The reason I drew the line at the clock was the cost; like you I never seem to have enough money with me, LOL!
What a lovely gesture on the part of your puppy owners!

Christine you kindly gave us pics of your dogs and they are raising money for our rescue.
Hi,
I had photos taken of my dog at an open show not long ago, and they turned out great. The photographer was really good, and he shows you all the shots on the computer after. When I got the actual photos I ordered, they'd put in a nice background of grass and trees (it was actually a building in real life), and they'd blanked out the lead that I was holding on to.
Hilda
I have had some done by Sue Domun - she also took the photos of some of my Dobe pups that have appeared in each edition of "Scamps Diary" the free booklet for puppy owners that is available at vets :)
Darren Young has also done some, he wanted to do some informal shots so did some of Maverick in a tree! He changes the backgrounds and produces some lovely pictures

I have never had a bad photo done by Sue Doman, which is more than I can say for some of the professonal dog press photographers.

Nick Ridley took some photos of Spanish on Sunday and the group shot turned out brilliant so I bought that straight away. I also entered the Pets at Home Comp. but I'm sure that I was done on the photo's as because one of my dogs was a bit barmy they didn't manage to do as many photo's as they should have done, but Anton's is absolutely brilliant, I've got the smaller one at work and the bigger one pride of place in my living room.
I have to say though that I've managed to take quite a few good ones with my digital camera, just need to get a printer now that will print it better than the printer i have. Anybody got any recommendations on good photo printers?

As a professional photographer (Dog World ) i can only say do not waste your time on a home ink jet printer. unless you are going to get a dye sub (several thousand£££) you will never achieve the punch of a true photographic print. i have two printers here, one is £300 the other nearly £800 but I only use them for proofing......I get all my customers prints done by a pro-lab that offer professional colour management facilities. unfortunately some dog photographers will sell you an inkjet print :(.......I wont.

I agree with Sam the best dog photos I have ever had have been by photographers especially if you want to use them in year books etc.. its ok taking snaps and quick digital pics for your album but you need a decent picture of your dog and a a proffesional one is perfect.
John Jackson took one of My Mattie once at a show how was I too know in the future she would be mother to two Top dogs and a very nice bitch and be featured in the International magazine was I glad I had that photo.

:)
just set up a web site if any one wants to look
its
http://www.pepsi.mydogpages.net
sorry cant do links
carolyn - what a fab link I am sitting here creating loads of albums! :-D
Thanks for that tip!

You are welcome
When you have made your site let us know so we can all see your dogs
If members who wanted a picture gallery on this site went and set one up on
that site we would get to see others dogs :-)
http://www.millienoonoo.mydogpages.net/ :-D
Do you mean like one for all Champdogs members? I don't mind setting it up but if we get told off by Champdogs we'll have to delete it!
Ok there is now a www.champdogsmembersgallery.mypetpages.net site and the password for it is champdogs (obviously!) so anyone who wants to add a picture of their dog(s) in the gallery can.
Hope I don't get in trouble!

tracey, depending on which photographer and what sort of agreement you have, you may well find that you are breaking laws of copyright by putting them on a website, scanning them or reproducing/publishing them in any way. This amounts to theft :( so please check with the photographer 1st.

Yes, its a very serious problem tracy: and I and most other professional photographers treat it as such, and will always pursue anyone using images illegally.:(

I've put some of my dogs on the MSN group, Taz's litter, of Spanish Water Dogs. THere's a nice one of Ickle Man retrieving, and some lovely photo's of his dad Moby, who I don't own but bred and I took the photo's too and very proud of myself I am!! :d
