Tamino and I have been to our first puppy class. :)  The trainer is very good, and the atmosphere is excellent.

We did recalls, we walked over a large piece of plastic tarp, Tamino and the other puppies ran through tunnels, we lured our puppies through a weave pole section, and Tamino had a wonderful time playing. The only problem is that all the other puppies are large breeds.

When we got into the car at the end, Tamino was so tired he fell asleep immediatly.  When he got home he had his dinner, pulled and nipped at our pantlegs, stole and chewed a shoe, tore up todays paper, and then collapsed into his basket asleep.  That's the first time he has gone to sleep so fast, after getting into that search and destroy mood. :D So this might have another advantage than training and socializing :D 

There were 2 Bernese Mountain Dogs, 1 Greater Swiss Mountain Dog, 1 chocolate Lab, a Border Collie, a Golden Retriever, and a brown Standard Poodle.  So we will be going next Wednesday.  It was all great fun  and I am already looking foreward to the next class.

Ekkkkkkkkk!!!  Weave poles and large breed puppies????  I always thought this was a BIG no no?

No, the poles were about 2 feet apart, and not exactly in a straight line.  I believe it's only tighter weaves that cause a problem.
