Topic Dog Boards / Health / False Pregnancy
- By MarkW [gb] Date 04.05.04 17:37 UTC
My 14 month ol cocker spaniel was in season in February. Since then she has displayed the symptoms of false pregnancy. Yesterday I noticed that she had milk.
What should I do? go to the vet or let nature take its course.
Thanks

Depends how she is behaving.  My dogs produce milk after every season but seem totally unaware that they have done so.  They show no other signs of a false pregnancy and happily carry on in their normal manner.  I do nothing about this and soon the milk goes.  If, however, they get very distressed, go off their food or show other severe symptoms then I would go to the vet.
