Hello

My breeder told me to feed my dog tin food and dry complete food mixed in together.  I have been doing this but he use to pass really smelly wind.

Someone recommed BARF and gave me us prepack food (minced meat with Veg) which I have given to him mixed in with his dried food (instead of just changing his diet in one go) and he really enjoys it and the really bad wind has stopped.  Can i carry on given him both the BARF and dried food mixed in together??  as I know that the dried food is good for his teeth.

Thanks

Hi,
Yes, that should be fine! The best diet for your dog is one that suits him. As long as you don't overfeed him I can't see any problem.

If you are going to feed raw you really should feed that meal and commercial food separately if you wish to continue this regime and not go the whole hog.  Is there a reason you don't want to feed raw completely?

The reason for suggesting this is that commercial food and raw food have differing digestion times.
