mY GORDON is 8 years old
How long do they live for . its a female and has recently started to become incontinent.  She is normally such a clean dog and it is often at night.  She would normally let us know as she sleeps with us in our bedroom

I would get her checked by a vet, she may have a urine infection.

I have a 7 year old Gordon bitch.  Usually they live for about 13 years, give or take 1 year.

By incontinent do you mean she has no control over her bladder or that she seems to have forgotten housetraining?  If it is the first, then these sites are very helpful.

It also maybe that she may just have forgotten her housetraining. That can happen for any number of reasons, your girl may even be a little senile.  My Gordon did that about a year ago, I just retrained her to go outside, like I would a puppy.

Any case take her to the vet for a check, better to be on the safe side.

Hi,
Both Gordons I've known have lived into their teens, so I wouldn't consider 8 to be old. Is your bitch spayed? One of the side-effects of spaying (even if done years before) is urinary incontinence in maturity/old age. Have your vet check her for a urinary infection, and if she is clear you may need to consider medication to cure the problem.

Or is it her bowels that she can't hold?
