I have just swapped my GSD from Bakers to JWB, and after much research on the internet and at local pet shops it appears that blatant price fixing is taking place. Where ever you look the price is the same. Is this true of all quality dog food or is it just JWB? Does anyone know where to get quality food cheaper? I also thought that price fixing was illegal, is this true?

I might be wrong but I think that unless a retailer sells the product at the recommended price they get no support from the company in the way of special offers, display fixtures, visits from the rep etc.

Hi,
Re price fixing and support from Dog food companies, I can't speak for elsewhere in the Country but in my area (South East) if you shop around you can get it cheaper than RRP. Although it is worth remembering that pet shop owners don't get the same margin on dog food as they do on accessories etc. I have seen it below RRP.

I don't know what it is about JWB it was explained to me (i forgot) but the price hardly altered from pets at home and to my wholesaler(about 50p) yet when i used to buy Burgess it changed by about £2-£3, So i guess it has something to do with JWB??
