Well as if rescues dont have enough to contend with there is a new scam now adopt a pedigree dog then sell it on for money I have been in contact with a dog warden in the south who picked up one of the dogs adopted from us last year when the story unfolded the dog was adopted in August then placed in the Ad Trader for £200 in october .The fact that we dont give out pedigree papers etc.. means nothing as its easy to give false papers and people are gullible enough to pay silly amounts of money to get a pet
The trouble is that though rescues home check and follow up its not physically possible to check on the dogs all the time for instance we rehome on average 200 dogs a year and to other areas we neither have the manpower(volunteers) or finances to check up on the progress of all the dogs,we always say to people adopting if you do not want to keep the dog for any reason we will take the dog back
Im really upset about this but thank goodness for micro chips because thats how we found out . and luckily the Lady that bought her is very nice and its a good home it could have been so different.

I can't think of a more disgusting scam. It just goes to show how sick some people are and to what depths they will sink. People like you do such a wonderful job without having to worry about things like this.
Kind regards, John

What a disgusting thing to do. This another reason why DLRC etc should be outlawed - it sounds an ideal way to sell on stolen pets. Papers, other than KC papers, should
never be trusted.

Any of you in rescue want to know the details of the woman email me and Ill give you them and you can foward to all the rescues you know as it seems she has other breeds as well.
labrador.rescue@btinternet.com
We've had this in the southern - Home counties area.
Happened to Boxers amongst other breeds :(
A dog I used to handle was 'given' to a woman without his papers
as she'd 'lost' her last Boxer. Then some months later the lady gets
into contact with the breeder claiming that she's had the dog put to sleep
due to cancer in the mouth and did the breeder have another one...(Thankfully the breeder didn't)
Turns out another lady knew this woman and contacted the breeder to say she'd sold the dog on!
Sadly he wasn't microchipped and they are unsure as to his whereabouts.
This person has also tried thru a couple of the Boxer breed rescues to get more Boxers..
I'm not sure if it's the same woman that was also doing the rounds in spaniels & other gundogs as well....

Funny I should read this post, this morning I saw a post on ad-mart by a gentleman I helped find a rescue dog last year. He is now selling it for £200. I have replied to his ad and awaiting his reply....wonder if I get one??? Will be contacting the rescue myself to inform them.
