Hi there
My lab Milo has been breaking out in lumps on his face and body since Sunday. I have put it down to applying Phostrogen lawn feed and moss killer on the Friday before. I have washed bedding/toys/etc and have kept him off the grass but he still keeps going up and down with these lumps (mainly on his face now). The vet gave him piriton which he is having twice a day, but it seems he is still reacting to something.
Anyone have any experience of this please??

hiya
my Bruce (boxer) had a similar reaction when he was about 8mths old, he was out in the garden playing for about half an hour, then came wandering into the kitchen, sat down and just stared at us,we went closer to him and saw 'bobbly' skin (all over) he had droopy eyes and just looked plain wierd
we took him straight to the vets and told us that it was an allergic reaction to an insect bite of some sort, maybe a wasp.
the vet gave Bruce an injection and after about an hour,he was fine and has'nt had them since
but if your labs 'bobbles' keep coming and going, i could'nt tell you, unless he gets bit or stung everytime you take him out, which i doubt
hope u find a cure :)

My old Lab cross used to react like this to plastic flea collars - the speed with which the lumps came up was scarey - you could see them growing!

The same thing happened to my dog on the first night of our holiday in remotest Wales with no vet on hand and no phone!
You could see the lumps coming up. My niece has severe allergy problems so I knew what it was and was scared the dog would have a swelling tongue and anaphalactic shock. Eventually got to a vet..long story..shaking more than the dog.. and obtained an antihistamine shot and pills. Never found out the cause, the vet thought insect bite or touched unfamiliar vegitation. We now have antihistamine pills in the house all the time. Incidently my dog also has an allergic reaction to inoculations.
my 12 wk old rotty pup came in the house last night from our garden with a swollen face i new the symtoms were from an allergic reaction so gave her a quarter of piriton tablet . and she seems much better this morning , ill be monitoring her in the garden in future , just to be on the safe side , got to have eyes up ya bum with em x x x
