I want to get another dog but not sure which breed to get. I have two children and a bulldog. My dog is walked twice a day in the park facing,I have a big garden for them to play in, I would like a breed who would make visitors welcome but would make  a noise if someone did break in, unlike my bulldog. The breeds I'm thinking of at the moment are Basset hound, dalmatian or a germand shepherd, could anyone give me any advice on this, as I am not sure if these are the right breeds or if there are other breeds out that more suitable.  All help much appreciated.

If you want to get a dalmatian be prepared to up your exercise regime to about 2 hours a day (about 5 miles).
