how much do you think i should bath my king charles caviler, i have heard it is bad to bath them to much

Under normal circumstances it's probably not neccessary to bath a Cavalier more than once every few months. If you are walking him through the woods and fields on a daily basis and he's rolling in something disgusting, then of course you'll have to bath him as and when neccessary to tollerate him in the house. A thorough brushing most days will keep him quite clean.

No way am I against regular bathing though, I have American Cockers, some of them in long show coat, and I bath most of them twice a week, and the buff is done alternate days at the moment because she matts very quickly otherwise.

Bathing dogs is fine as long I bath mine around once a month in summer & less often in the winter I do wash their whites more often Mine are blenheims so show up the mud & dirt more than solids
