i put a floppy disk into the c drive i think it is called instead of floppy drive and i cannot get it out please help

Try opening 'My Computer' highlight the drive in question and then click on file (top left screen)and then eject. That should shoot the tray out.

Failing that if there is a tiny whole in the front of the drive push through the hole with a cocktail stick or a small piece of plastic, dont use metal.

Your "C" drive is generally your main hard disk so I hope you did not put it in there :-)

As Jackie says you can generally get the CD drive open by sticking something in the tiny hole at the front and pushing until you feel something "give".

I have just tried one for size - how on earth did you get it to close as they don't sit in the groove.  You may have jammed it and depending on which way it went it may be a case of taking the CD drive out of the machine and fiddling with it until you can get it open.  Do not do this though unless you are confident of working inside your computer as you could do damage both to yourself and it.

Come to think of it you would have to try very HARD to get a floppy into a CD drive.
and you could not push it into your hard drive unless you are out to wreck it.

Come back and have another go at explaining what you have done, unless it is sorted now.

Glad it's sorted, at least you are unlikely to do it again, and if you do well you now know how to deal with it. My husbands PC has the daftest of designs the panic off switch is right next to the floppy eject button, lost count of the times the air has been blue because he has hit the wrong button and deleated a mornings hard work - even the dogs make a dash for the outside world to hide till the air clears.
