Any advice and info would be appreciated. I have just come back from the vet and Emma my 5 year old lab may have a pyro. She resorped at six weeks and that would now be about six weeks ago. I noticed blood and discharged on my bed during the night and phoned vet this morning. I took her to vets and she was scanned but it was difficult to see anything.  Vet said to bring her back on Tuesday morning for another scan and keep close eye on her till then.  She is drinking lots of water, but is still eating, everything else seems 'normal' although I know that does not mean anything. Is there anything I can do for her until next scan. If she has to be spayed then fair enough, I do not want to lose her, but I dont know if she is in pain or not. Please help.

Is she on anti-biotics? It's a long time till Tuesday with an infection like Pyometra.

Yes, sorry, vet has given her antibiotics. While we were looking at the scan she talked me through it, and explained the difference between a closed and open pyo. She did say she could not see evidence of a closed pyo, but if there was an open pyo it could be treated with antibiotics. Since Emma has come home from vets she has not been to the water bowl, I am hoping this is a good sign, I gave her some treats and she ate all as normal.
Just to explain a bit more, Emma was due to whelp on 21st March, she did not completely resorb but scan showed that puppies had mummified, reason for scanning was discharged with chopped liver like contents.
This was more of a miscarraige than resorption. On the 20th March, day before she would have been due, Emma started whelping, This went on for about 5 hours with nothing produced at end of it, I was told to maybe expect dead pup. She was checked out after this and found that nothing had been left inside. She did not produce any milk and has been fine up until now, problem is that she is very clean so I dont know if this discharge has been going on for a few days, her bedding is dark grey medibed and would not show any signs. She came up onto my bed last night and because she was on pale blue covers I noticed the discharge.
This would have been her third litter, all other whelpings have been normal and has not had a litter since June 2002.
