- By Guest [gb] Date 24.04.04 09:18 UTC
The day before yesterday my virgin stud dog didnt really have alot of interest in my bitch who was on day 9 although she was trying her best to arouse him.Yesterday however he done the deed straight away and very competently i might add(day 10)Today he is trying his hardest to get to her again and has even jumped through my conservatory window twice to get to her and she seems very willing still aswell.Should i allow him to mate her again today or wait til tomorrow as you would if you were visiting a stud?He is whining like mad bless him but i only want to do what is best for both of them, thank you in advance for any advice.

I assume you've checked out both dogs to ensure they compliment each other, and have shown them, or at least had them checked over by an experienced show person to ensure they are the best possible match (any weaknesses in either dog should be matched by strong points in the other).  And that they have also had full medicals, including any tests for congential problems (such as HD, OCD, eye problems etc......)  Why do we do all these things??  Because we want the BEST for our dogs, and their pups for the future.  If you haven't done these things, then you are NOT doing the best for your dog, and you'd better hope they do NOT breed this season.

hi guest

mating 2 days on the run is ok but i would not let them over do it, i mated my bitch 3 times which was each day for 3 days. then not again at all even though they both wanted to (had the stud to stay).
