My dog is having an x-ray tomorrow as he begin limping last night, out of the blue. I say this because I took him for a walk, he played chase with a friend's puppy for half an hour, I then drove him home and took him in the garden to do his business, then back in the house. This is when he started limping!! Anyway, we took him to the vets and he said that it is his leg that is hurt, it may be a damaged ligament or a chipped bone. My question is - if it is any of these, how likely is it that he will need an operation, and if he does what aftercare would he need. I appreciate it would be hard to say, as you have not seen him in the flesh, but any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks

Steady up now, let the vet do the x-ray and talk you through what they find. Join us and then you can let us know what the vet has said and we can take things from there, your vet should let you know what treatment will be required and we will be pleased to help and support you whilst your dog recovers.

With two puppies playing the most likely thing is a simple strain or pulled muscle. As Jackie says, don't panic about what might well not be. It's like human medical books, you get better so much quicker if you dont read them.
