I have two 12 year old pekes, mae and thomas, thomas seems to be going rather thin with his hair, especially around his back, and know his winter coat has come out he hardly seens to have any, just wirey hair, mae, has a lovely coat and she is the same age any suggestions, other than buying him a wig????

Take the peke to the vet to rule out metabolic/skin disorders and ask about feeding for a senior dog. My young dog started thinning hair in weird places and a vet check revealed nothing, a friend suggested cod liver oil and after 2 months of using it hes got a normal coat again. Also what is his bedding? Could this be happening as he lies in one position all night or needs more padding under his joints now?  Sorry cant be more help but no experience of elderly dogs yet. Let us know how you go.

Cushion disease maybe

I think you mean Cushings dollface :D :D :D

I would feed Fish Body Oils rather than Cod Liver Oil which can proved toxic, especially in such a small dog over time as it contains Vitamins A & D; and I would add Vitamin E as well.

HTH
