Hiya
My pup has got his first ticks (actually two of them) and they are both right by his eye. One by his eyelashes.
I use frontline, but how does it take for the tick to drop off??? It has gone from white to a greyish colour.
Should I put frontline on the ticks???
Thank you for your help!!!

Yes, dont spray onto the dog, spray into a small container and dip a cotton bud or small brush into the Frontline and apply to the tick.

Ask your vet for a tick remover. They come in 2 sizes in a little packet - only cost about £1. You just put the fork either side of the tick and twist it round and round until the tick drops off.

Think you will find a tick remover difficult near the eye, but you can try but make sure you get the head out.

you can also smother them in vaseline and they suffocate and drop off.

The tick removers are very smooth and blunt - I would worry that some of the Frontline may get rubbed into the eye. I removed one from my dog's eyelid with a remover with no trouble. It is just good to have an instant solution.

Hi Guest,
Just dab a little bit of surgical spirit on the tick and hey presto, gone in an hour.
