Is Special Yearling a Crufts Qualifer???
- By Lily Mc [gb] Date 15.04.04 23:05 UTC
Only for breeds in Stud Book Band E, I believe, although I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

You are correct if the qualifications for next year remain as they were this year.
- By lel [gb] Date 16.04.04 08:48 UTC
Would that include Staffys then ( In Band E) ?
- By ice_queen Date 16.04.04 08:55 UTC

By the way, for others who may ask, the Kennel Club now very helpfully include the Stud Book bands on their website - click on the 'Shows' tab and then the 'Stud Book Bands' listing.

I wish :D

Think we've only done three shows this year so far :(

He's out of Junior Class this month and wasnt sure whether he could only qualify in Post Grad now. Thing is not all Shows have a Special yearling class

- By lel [gb] Date 16.04.04 11:20 UTC

BOB in certain breeds at premier shows ;)
- By pjw [gb] Date 16.04.04 12:21 UTC
Only if the breed judge is qualified to give tickets to that particular breed at champ shows.
- By Jackie H [gb] Date 16.04.04 12:24 UTC
Interested in that, can you give details please as that is not what the application form and information says or seems to say.
- By pjw [gb] Date 16.04.04 14:18 UTC
Sorry.  Jumped in too quickly.  Just checked - the judge has to be on the judges B list in that breed.  (Also there have to be a minimum of 5 classes in the breed at the Premier Show)

Hi,
We are entered in a premier open show at The Showground Elvaston, on the 27th June and in the schedule it says Premier Open show carries a Crufts qualification for the declared Best Of Breed in each of the qualifying breeds. Qualifying BOB will recieve a certificate confirming Crufts qualification. In order to qualify the breed classification must schedule more than three classes (five for stud book E breeds) in the case of my breed Staffords there are 6 classes this year Puppy, Junior, Novice, Post Grad, Limit, Open last year same show 3 classes Puppy, Novice and Open.
     The BOB in the following breeds will qualify;SBT,Border Terrier,Golden Retriever,Lab,Irish Setter,Pointer,Cocker Spaniel,Weimaraner,Borzoi,Rough Collie,Sheltie,Boxer,Rotweilier,Bernese M.D,Great Dane,Alaskan Malamute,Dalmation,Tibetan Soaniel,CKCS.
      Hope this helps.
Karen

No you can start training and showing a dog at any age, it will need to be KC registered to show in anything except Companion Shows.

Thanks Pjw. That's what I thought, wondered if I have misread the rules & regs.
