I have a question about Science Diet -  No I don't feed it but my mother inlaw feeds it too her maltese/poodle and they look like big little squares and guess it is suppose to help clean the teeth.

I told her it's not the best food cause it has alot of chemicles in it and it just isn't very good. Can you tell me where I can read about it and why it is not good so that I can pass this information onto her.

Thank you :)

From your description it sounds like your mom has the new formula that cleans teeth - I don't remember the name of this one, but if you're looking up the ingredients then make sure you're looking for the right variety.

I now feed my dogs JWB in the morning and raw in the evening, however my family and I have fed dogs on Science Diet for over 25 years and all have lived healthily and happily to good ages.  It's not like she's feeding junk.  Are there better brands out there?  YES.  Are there worse?  ABSOLUTELY.  If it works and she's happy, and the dogs are happy don't push too hard.  By all means give her the info, but it's not a bad food - just has way too many fillers for my personal liking any more.
