The breeder who we are getting our boxer pup from has told us that she will be weaning her onto Iam :-(
I am aware of the gradual change needed but how soon do you think i could get my pup of this dreadful companys food and onto something else?
Also what recommendations do you suggest i change her on to? :-)

The foods that are most reccomended on here are; Nature Diet, James Wellbeloved and Burns. Also many swear by feeding their dogs on a raw diet BARF.

I'm sure there'll be other folk along shortly with more info for you :)

Liberty what about the wonderful Autarky?!!

My youngest dog was weaned onto Autarky from Beta Pup and has been on it ever since.  I shall certainly wean mine onto Autarky Pup if I am lucky enough to get a litter.

When I switched my crew off Iams/Eukanuba they went straight on Nutro Natural Choice and they all love it and look lovely on it. I even have my ferrets on the kitten food and they are doing great, I was told that Iams/Eukanuba was the best type of kitten food to use but I like the ingredients in the Nutro better. I'm also looking into making my own rat food and the ingredients in that recomend Nutro dogfood.

Just keep in mind that all food may not work the same on every dog, you have to find what works best for yours.

When switching add a wee little bit over time to the old food and eventually you will be on the new food. Sometimes to fast of a switch will upset the tummy.

Good luck :)
