Topic Dog Boards / Health / another poopy question
- By jennymc [gb] Date 13.04.04 20:09 UTC
seems to be a load of questions linked with our dogs backends recently - hope someone can help me and I m sorry if im repeating some of the other questions.  Sam had colitis around 9 weeks old and has always had a funny stomach.  Sometimes (although these bouts have got less frequent) he has to go three or four times to clear out and they get increasingly sloppier - I know that these are the first signs of colitus - is there anything that I can give him before I take him to the vet? (he is now 6 months old) I feed him on pedigree complete which has really been the only food that his stomach seems to agree with.  Does anyone have any help or views that they can give me?

Many Thanks
Jenny

Jenny,

When you notice his poop changing switch his food to chicken and rice, or white fish and rice, or egg and rice until he's back to normal.

Naturediet Lite, which is a moist food, is especially formulated for dogs that suffer from bouts of colitis. If you haven't tried it I would recommend you do.
