Topic Dog Boards / Feeding / Butchers Complete????????

Following my recent thread regarding Burns Chicken & Rice and a very delicate Cocker's digestion, has anyone had any experience of, or heard any feedback regarding Butchers Complete - Ham, Pasta, Tomato & Cheese dry food? It definitely seems like an intollerance to Rice is the root cause of the problem, and finding a food without it is proving rather difficult! We've come across this variety, but haven't heard of it before, and bearing in mind recent traumas, are reluctant to try anything untested or unproven; but the Wafcol salmon & potato suggested by our vet seems rather expensive at £40 for a 15kg sack, and if Alfie's reaction is anything to go by, the taste is not the best!

We'd appreciate any feedback - even comments saying the Wafcol really is worth the money if anyone feels strongly!

Thank you.

I don't know where you live but I pay £27 for my Wafcol.  Shop around.  You can get it a lot cheaper.

Hi,
We live in Exmouth, Devon and all the pet shops charge £39.99 for the Salmon and Potato. I think some of the other flavours are a pound or two cheaper, but he has to have a variety without rice!

Have to say did originally use Butchers for my border collie.  Unfortunately it did nothing for him.  We swopped to Burns and cant believe the difference.  His coat is now shiny which it wasnt on Butchers.  personally dont like it at all and couldnt recommend it.

Thanks for reply. We did have doubts as to whether it was worth trying.
