Barney (cocker spaniel) is nearly eight months now, it is possible that his teeth are still hurting him?  The last couple of weeks he has destroyed all his fluffy toys, he used to suck them ( ) when he was tired but now he tears into them and wants to eat all the stuffing, especially the white cotton wool like stuffing.  Last Thursday I bought him a rubber squeeky toy, but he has now torn that into little bits.  Does anyone know of any toys that will last longer than a couple of days?

Get him a Kong.  Norman is destructive with furry things but can chew on a Kong for hours :)

Theres a secondary teething period at this age when the teeth embed in the gums and can be sore. You can freeze a stuffed kong or a washcloth for him to chew, I remember this as the age Morse ripped his bed apart and we gave him shoe boxes, toilet roll innards and plastic bottles with the top and plastic ring removed to destroy - and a big cardboard box full of crumpled paper ( not newspaper as the ink is dangerous) with treats buried in it to keep him busy. How about a frozen chicken wing as long as youre about to supervise as its like a lolly?
